Inhabitants[]
Humes - Plain and simple, humans. Along with the Galka, they are one of the largest segments of inhabitants in Bastok. It is said Promathia cursed them with the vice of Apathy.
Galka- While technically genderless, Galka are all-male as far as appearance goes. They tend to be physically powerful. Rather than reproduce, they reincarnate. Along with Humes, they are one of the most populous races in all of Bastok. They tend to be physically strong, but are rather poor at magic. It is said Promathia cursed them with Rage.
Tarutaru- A child-like with a tendancy to talk to other like babies (though not out of arrogance, this is simply how they speak). They tend to be skilled with magic, but are physically weak. It is said Promathia cursed them with cowardice.
Mithra- A felinesque race that is almost all female, the males being jealously guarded. While fairly balanced overall, they tend to be rather dexterous. They are known for being energetic and curious, and are know for causing mischeif. They are said to have been cursed by Promathia with envy.
Elvaan- The opposite of many other world's elves in ability, the Elvaan of Vana'diel are even stronger than the Galka. However, they tend to be poor at magic, with the odd exception of White Magic. They are said to have been cursed by Promathia with Arrogance.
